DAVE HARD AT WORK on his old beatup equipment

Dave is working hard but BoBo is taking it easy.

Bobo is a stray cat that David found a few years ago and Dave has given this abandoned animal a loving home. BoBo is very playful and affectionate. Just don't cross him because he thinks he's the king of the beasts. Rawrrr!

As you can see Dave's equipment is old and very beat up. We are trying to get a new computer system and a properly adapted joystick.
You wouldn't believe the run around we get from services for adapted devices. No equipment can be acquired without an assessment, but no one in London can do this. A hospital in Kitchener was suggested but we were told that they may not take people from outside their community. ADP ( Ontrio government's assited devices provider) says they only tell people where services may be found, they do not provide or mandate services. David may be in a classic catch 22 along with others in his postion in London. Perhaps the MPP's will need to become sensitized to this injustice before the next election.
Or maybe we will just sic BoBo on them.
What do you think?
If you agree that ADP needs to make sure vulnerable people have access to the services they need, please call your Member of Provincial Parliament or risk the wrath of BoBo.

Happy 41st Birthday Big Guy

They say life begins at 40. That makes David 1 year old.
The best is yet to come.
And at least no one can say you we were born yesterday.

Here are a few pictures of David's B.D. party. Thanks everyone for making it such a grand occasion.

A Local Artist Enourages David

Here is a picture of one of the artists whose banner design won a $1,000 and has been hanging over the Dundas streetscape this summer.
His name is Mark Neilson. I (Len ) met him one day as I was taking down David's display. David had gone to catch his bus and Mark commented that he liked the clean and simple lines of the work. He commented that they would make great designs for T-shirts and other items like mugs. Little did Mark know that David's dream includes just such an enterprise. Great minds think alike. This encounter with a talented local artist was very encouraging and especially so since the compliment he p[aid to David's work came before hew knew of David's immense physical limitations.

Thank youMark Neilson for your great encouragement and many blessings to you and yours.

Some of Mark's wining baner can be seen at

http://openair.ca/markneilson.html

Here is a picture of David and Len manning the booth on Dundas Street durning En Plein Aire.

7 Days at En Plein aire

David manned the booth and charmed the ladies. We actually sold enough prints to just about cover expenses. They say that is not bad for an artist in London.

David lays on the charm. If he could speak he'd have made a fortune or at least gotten a couple of phone numbers.

sun behind the cross

cross above the altar

X marks the spot where the Apostle Peter was crucified. He insisted that he was not worthy to die like Jesus so the Romans acomodated him by crucifying him upside down on a cross shaped like an X.

On Earth as it is in Heaven

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

A FEW OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS

Sailing on a quiet lake at sundown.

A warm and happy place to come home to.

A sanctuary where I can be accepted and loved.

Someday I hope to have all this. If not here, then in heaven.

But I must admit I would prefer if it could be on earth as it is in heaven.

MY DREAM HOMES

Everyone needs a place to call home. My true home is in
heaven but in the meantime I would love to call any of
these houses my home.

A beautiful place in the country surounded by nature would be nice.
Of course my surroundings are much humbler now but someday I will enjoy my heavenly mansion.

Come and visit me anytime now or in eternity.

Double D Dove (DD)

This design was a gift from a very fine Native Artist named Bill Bressette.
Bill was concerned that my computer generated images were not copywritable and so he graciously created this beautiful dove with the Double D in its breast. The back to back D's refer to Dave's Designs.

Another friend, Tim Hodges, helped by placing the DavesDesigns 2005 watermark on the picture.

I hope to overlay the dove on all my creations to serve as my signature logo.
So when you see the Double D Dove please think of me.
