CONGRATULATIONS TO THAT OTHER STEVEN
OTTAWA TRIP 2007
Last year my brother Sam (God Bless Him) helped me and some of my friends get to the nation's capital. We saw the parliament buildings and enoyed the sites of that beautiful city.
On the way home a deer decided to commit suicide and jumped in front of our van. We got stranded overnight till we got a new vehicle to take us home.
I had a great time.....but I think it was a little stressful for Sam. I am very grateful to my brother for making this trip possible for me and my friends.

LONG TIME NO SEE
Tuesday, June 05, 2007
If it be dark better to light fire than curse the pterodactyl shadow over our head
The tech support problem dates back to long before the industrial revolution, when primitive tribesmen beat out a rhythm on drums to communicate:
Ugh! This "Fire Help." Me Groog.
Me Lorto. Help. Fire not work.
You have flint and stone? Ugh. You hit them together? Ugh. What happen?
Fire not work. (sigh) Make spark? No spark, no fire, me confused. Fire work yesterday. *sigh*
You change rock?
I change nothing.
You sure?
Me make one change. Stone hot so me soak in stream so stone not burn Lorto hand. Small change, shouldn't keep Lorto from make fire.
* Groog grabs club and goes to Lorto's cave*
* lights go out in Lorto's brain *

HAPPY NEW YEAR
I HAVE BEEN 'INTERNET DEPRIVED' SINCE MID DECEMBER. I AM TRYING OUT A DIFFERENT ISP AND THE CHANGE HASN'T BEEN EASY. BUT HOORAY I AM BACK AT IT THIS WEEK.
THINGS HAVE BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I LAST POSTED.
I AM TRYING OUT A NEW LIVING ARRANGEMENT FOR THE MONTH OF FEB. I WILL MOVE IN WITH 7 OTHERS IN A BEAUTIFUL HOME CLOSE TO MY CHURCH. IF I LIKE IT AS MUCH AS I THINK I WILL, THEN I WILL BE MOVING THERE ON A PERMANENT BASIS IN MARCH. BE SURE TO COME AND SEE ME SOMETIME. I WILL POST THE ADDRESS AND SOME PICTURES WHEN I AM SURE OF THIS MOVE.
I ALSO HAVE BEEN HELPING SET UP THE LASER EAGLES ART PROGRAM THROUGH R2E AT MY CHURCH. CHECKOUT THE GREAT THINGS THEY DO AT
http://lasereagles.org/
I ALSO HAVE BEEN INVITED TO SHOW MY WORK AT THE PARTICIPATION HOUSE PROGRAM ON OSGOODE DR. I HAVE MET SOME OF THE PEOPLE FROM P.H. AT OUR LASER EAGLES MEETINGS AND THEY WANT ME TO SHARE SOME OF MY EXPERIENCES AS AN ARTIST WITH SEVERE C.P. I HOPE TO INSPIRE OTHERS TO DISCOVER THEIR TALENTS AND PASSIONS AND TO FIND THE COURAGE TO MAKE A CONTRIBUTION TO LIFE IN ANYWAY THEY CAN.
EACH ONE OF US HAS A PURPOSE AND A CALLING FROM GOD. WE NEED TO HELP EACH OTHER DISCOVER THAT PURPOSE AND TO SET ABOUT LIVING IT OUT AS BEST WE CAN.
MY JOURNEY HAS NOT BEEN EASY BUT MY LOVE FOR GOD AND MY APPRECIATION OF THE KINDNESS I HAVE SEEN IN SOME PEOPLE HAS KEPT ME GOING ON IN MY QUEST TO SERVE GOD AND TO LOVE OTHERS. I AM BLESSED TO BE ABLE TO SHARE WHAT I AM DOING WITH YOU AND I HOPE YOU WILL BE INSPIRED TO LOVE AND SERVE GOD AS I AM TRYING TO DO EACH DAY.

DAVE HARD AT WORK on his old beatup equipment
Dave is working hard but BoBo is taking it easy.
Bobo is a stray cat that David found a few years ago and Dave has given this abandoned animal a loving home. BoBo is very playful and affectionate. Just don't cross him because he thinks he's the king of the beasts. Rawrrr!
As you can see Dave's equipment is old and very beat up. We are trying to get a new computer system and a properly adapted joystick.
You wouldn't believe the run around we get from services for adapted devices. No equipment can be acquired without an assessment, but no one in London can do this. A hospital in Kitchener was suggested but we were told that they may not take people from outside their community. ADP ( Ontrio government's assited devices provider) says they only tell people where services may be found, they do not provide or mandate services. David may be in a classic catch 22 along with others in his postion in London. Perhaps the MPP's will need to become sensitized to this injustice before the next election.
Or maybe we will just sic BoBo on them.
What do you think?
If you agree that ADP needs to make sure vulnerable people have access to the services they need, please call your Member of Provincial Parliament or risk the wrath of BoBo.

A Local Artist Enourages David
Here is a picture of one of the artists whose banner design won a $1,000 and has been hanging over the Dundas streetscape this summer.
His name is Mark Neilson. I (Len ) met him one day as I was taking down David's display. David had gone to catch his bus and Mark commented that he liked the clean and simple lines of the work. He commented that they would make great designs for T-shirts and other items like mugs. Little did Mark know that David's dream includes just such an enterprise. Great minds think alike. This encounter with a talented local artist was very encouraging and especially so since the compliment he p[aid to David's work came before hew knew of David's immense physical limitations.
Thank youMark Neilson for your great encouragement and many blessings to you and yours.
Some of Mark's wining baner can be seen at
